Abstract

Background: intraabdominal infection is a serious medical-surgical illness and a problem of health at world level. The peculiarities of their natural evolution cause a high morbimortality and the inadequacies in the professional acting of the medical service providers impact in the early diagnosis and the effective therapy. Objective: to design a didactic pamphlet for the professional selfpreparation in the integral care of patients with intraabdominal infection. Methods: was carried out a study of technological innovation in the hospital Dr. Ambrosio Grillo Portuondo of Santiago de Cuba with the use of theoretical and empiric methods of investigation for the making of a didactic pamphlet on the topic. Results: the didactic pamphlet contains 73 questions and answers on the diagnosis and therapeutic integral handling of the intraabdominal infection. Conclusions: the didactic pamphlet constitutes a valuable support material for the teaching process and an useful tool of selfpreparation to elevate the quality of the surgeon´s professional acting in the identification and solution of intraabdominal infection
