PUNTOS CLAVE

  • Las contusiones cerebrales son una causa importante de morbimortalidad a nivel mundial.

  • La fisiopatología engloba diversos mecanismos vasculares, iónicos y metabólicos.

  • La evaluación imagenológica mediante tomografía axial computarizada (TAC) y resonancia magnética (RM) es de gran ayuda para el diagnóstico.

  • En el manejo se considera la terapia osmótica, anticonvulsivos, craniectomía descompresiva, esteroides y ácido tranexámico.
